Mission Statement

Worcester Local First is a network of locally owned, independent businesses formed in 2007 to build a strong Worcester economy and a vibrant community.

We do this by:
  • Organizing a Worcester Local First campaign that raises the awareness of consumers, businesses, and government agencies regarding the benefits of purchasing from locally owned, independent businesses.
  • Bringing together locally owned, independent businesses for mutual benefit and networking opportunities.
  • Supporting Worcester ordinances, regulations and policies that promote locally owned, independent businesses.
  • Collaborating with other organizations that promote and advance locally owned, independent businesses.

Worcester Local First, along with Local First campaigns in Boston, Cambridge and Roslindale, is an affiliate of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Boston, a 501(c) 3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization. SBN is part of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, which has more than 60 Local First campaigns across the U.S. and Canada.
